Removing sticky substances from vinyl siding

WD-40 is a fast and effective way to remove sticky substances and stubborn spots that are on your vinyl siding. After an asphalt roof is replaced, you might find black marks on the siding as an occasional shingle might hit wall of the house when it’s thrown off the roof. Simply spray a little WD-40 on the spot and wipe it off. It’s also a good idea to clean off the excess WD-40 that’s still on the siding with warm soapy water.

Fun fact: The “WD” in WD-40 stands for “water displacement”.
